All recreational GYMNASTICS classes will participate in STAR! Here's how it works:

Each child will have her/his own STAR card.  Periodically, we will test the skills that we are working on and when the child has mastered the skill, we check off that skill. Each event has 5-6 skills. The levels are “color coded” to match the STAR colors that are posted in the gym and on the mezzanine- with red as the first STAR, then orange, then yellow, etc. When a child has all of the skills checked off on an event, he/she receives a paper ribbon award (i.e. Red Bars). When the child has completed all of the skills on all events of one STAR, he/she receives a certificate for that STAR and is eligible to move up to the next colored STAR.

We believe the cards (and rewards) help the children see just how many different gymnastics skills they are working on and how much they personally have accomplished. We hope that you will share in the excitement of their accomplishments.
